Reading this report (Click Above on Title) written by the Trust for America’s Health (these folks are legit), a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to saving lives and making disease prevention a national priority, is a completely eye opening adventure. I must say, that this adventure is not a completely pleasant one. Even I was surprised at some of the information included. I had no idea the the types of killer mosquitoes flying around in 30 states or the extent of the bio-terrorism threat to the U.S. This report covers so many threats to the world and the U.S. that you may feel a bit upset after reading it, a little unsettled because...what are you to do with this information? How can you make a difference? I don't know. But I do know that pretending infectious diseases are not a global problem that threatens our health and the health of our future, is not going to make it go away. Getting informed is the first step, we couldn't possibly know where that may lead.
