Well I was going to write about the 7 Worst Supermarket Rip-Offs or do a follow up piece on yesterday's post, but I just cannot let today go by without being sure you all have heard the hubbub surrounding a recent  Pace Environmental Law Review article.  The article titled "Unanswered Questions from the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program: A Review of Compensated Cases of Vaccine-Induced Brain Injury" is the basis for a press conference and announcement of a link between vaccines and autism by a group of parents and lawyers today at noon.  You can watch the press conference live above at noon EDT today.

The original press release states:
"Investigators from Pace Law School in New York will be joined by parents and children with autism to announce a groundbreaking study that strongly suggests a link between vaccines and autism on Tuesday, May 10 at 12:00 pm in front of the US Court of Claims (717 Madison Place in Washington DC).  The study, which was carried out using readily available, public government data, found that a substantial number of children who have been compensated for vaccine injury by the federal government have autism - more than three times the national prevalence.  However, as the government publicly denies a link between autism and vaccines and claims these individuals have been compensated for brain damage and seizures, of which autism is often a symptom, this study casts a serious doubt on previous findings by the government regarding vaccine safety.  This is the first time this study is being unveiled.

The investigators will be calling upon Congress to immediately investigate the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program and plan to hold Congressional briefings."

I think these folks are up for a battle and are ready, willing and able to even the playing field when it comes to vaccine injury compensation for children diagnosed with autism.  I have often wondered why people like my father, who have a vaccine induced neurological disease, are compensated while others (mainly children diagnosed with autism) are left out in the cold with absolutely no help in dealing with the vast array of medical issues, hurdles and monetary losses. A vaccine injury by any other name is compensated, why not when it's called autism?
