Designer Mistie Dawn and Her Shop to be Green e-Boutique for Green Gals Comes Full Circle

ShoptobeGreen.com Owner/Founder Mistie Dawn
You know that adorable little boutique in your town that always has the most unique finds for gifts, for yourself or just because? Well, I have one of those too and I just love it. What I don't love is that their adorable items are NOT eco-friendly.  So listen up green gals!  Whether you are looking for a unique gift for a friend or you just want a little something special for yourself (you know you deserve it!), ShoptobeGreen.com is an eco-friendly solution you will want to frequent.

Like most boutiques, the Shop to be Green e-boutique was started by a woman with a passion for style in fashion and home design.  Unlike most boutiques, Owner and Founder Mistie Dawn, was also passionate about sharing eco-friendly design.

Back in 2004, Mistie started an accessories design business called Signature M.  Based out of New York City, she sculpted handbags out of upcycled hard covered books with the pages still intact. Mistie sold the quirky, eco-friendly bags internationally in art museums and boutiques. When she found herself  relocating to Arizona, she knew she wanted to continue the eco-friendly concept in some way - but this time she wanted to go big.  She just wasn't sure exactly what it was she wanted to create.

Mistie took some time off to think about her new, green venture and during that time, she worked with her boyfriend on home renovations.  They kept finding unique and exciting green designs that they wanted to integrated into their home but they had a hard time finding what they wanted in stores and that's when it hit her.  Mistie felt she could expand and improve on what she had started in 2004 by starting a company that could be a one-stop shop for high-end and creatively designed green and eco-friendly products. She spent an entire year working on her eco-friendly e-boutique concept and  launched Shop to be Green in the 4th Qtr of 2010.

Reclaimed Barn Wood Chalkboard Serving Tray - 24" x 14"

This is a serving tray with a unique chalkboard bottom allowing you to leave notes to a loved one for breakfast in bed, labeling items for a party or you could use this as a decorative piece for your coffee table or ottoman.  The tray is made from reclaimed oak barn wood salvaged from a barn in Duck River, Tennessee. The barn was originally built by a retired Civil War Colonel in the late 1800's. It measures approximately 24" x 14" and has built in handles for easy transport from the kitchen to any area of your home. (Due to the nature of 100+ year old wood, some pieces have to be manually leveled on one end, {underneath so it is not visible}, with a small adhesive pad.) This does not detract from the tray's beauty or durability at all--it just makes it 100% sturdy for any surface that you choose to use it on.
Please allow 3-5 days to leave the studio.
Handmade in the USA.

This year Mistie has big plans for Shop to be Green.  Mistie's plans call for doubling Shop to be Green's product offering,  expanding Mistie's luxe 910 Joy Avenue label (named after the street address of her grandmother), and she will come full circle as she once begins incorporating some of her original Signature M designs.

We green gals can't wait Mistie!!
