As I sit here listening to eight 13 year old girls squeal, giggle and chat with boys while they eat their healthy snacks at my daughter's birthday, I begin to look forward to entertaining for almost 30 people for a Green Christmas. Now my daughter convinced me to offer soda as a drink for her guests (against my better judgment I acquiesced) and when it comes to Christmas day, I am sure my husband will put his foot down and make me offer all kinds of unhealthy snacks and goodies. Still, I will use everything I can find to turn our special celebration into as green a Christmas as possible as it is my passion to try to introduce my family and friends to a healthier, greener way of living. Yet fulfilling my passion has to come with ease and comfort for
my guests and that is where the difficulty lies.
So guess what? I just found an awesome book that can help me, and you, green any celebration with ease and comfort while feeling better about our sustainability and health. You need to run over to my fellow OpenSky Shopkeepers' site called Celebrate Green. This mother and daughter team (I know what a joy it is to work with your mother as I get the pleasure often to collaborate with my mother with my company) has put together this one of a kind book that takes the mystery out of green entertaining and gives us all some new ideas.
Check out their book and let me know some of your green entertaining ideas...I never tire of hearing how others are making their special events sustainable!

Your idea is so good! Go green living! I, myself is an advocate for green living life. So go for it!
ReplyDeleteShane,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for talking about Celebrate Green! You're right, the book (and of course our website and blog), is packed with ideas for every aspect of celebrating. Honestly, if you go about it in the right way, your family will get on board. If you're looking for ideas for THAT, just let us know and we'd be happy to help. Have a wonderful holiday.
Warmly,
Lynn
Bryan, I know you are dedicated to living green. Do you ever throw a party and try to do it green?
ReplyDeleteLynn, I am so happy that someone has written a book about this subject. I think that sometimes people fall short on entertaining green as it can be challenging. I appreciate your enthusiasm and am getting your book! Is there a way to get it autographed?
