Your Skin is Alive! Protect it with Skin MD Natural - Skin Care Breakthrough, Shielding Lotion with Our Special Friends and Family 20% Off Coupon

A large part of our community is interested in environmental health issues.  Interestingly, a smaller number of you are interested in personal health issues.  My goal, in choosing the things I share with you (whether it is here on the blog, via Twitter, EB or FB...),  is to help you realize that environmental health and personal health are intertwined.  The choices you make today will change your health and the health of our environment tomorrow.

How?  Well it is imperative that we think about our consumer choices and how they impact not only our health but our environmental health  as well.  Choosing to support companies, suppliers and manufacturers who are creating  safe products with an eye on the environment, sends the message (and the money) to the organizations who align with the green movement.  Green is not just about saving the environment, it is also about saving ourselves.

I have really been spending a lot of time lately thinking about ways to spread not only the green message, but true green living to everyone.  Regardless of income level, people should have access to products which will be safe for them and safe for our world.  One of my goals this year is to provide savings, coupons and ideas for green living that will help to make going green more affordable to all.  These days, everyone is up for  great ways to save and we are really positioned well right now as a green community to have access to special savings from green companies of all kinds.

Businesses are getting involved in the social media scene and are happy to provide great online communities like ours special deals.  So you know that You know your skin is alive and needs protection.  I really like Skin MD Naturals because they have an awesome, safe lotion with sunscreen and their lotion is the epitome of a green product.

Skin MD Naturals has recently installed 350 roof top solar panels to power their laboratory and has just received their first batch of lotion made entirely through solar power.  What an accomplishment to be a part of?  What’s really awesome is that on some days they may only need 70% of the power stored in the cells.  The remaining 30% can be drawn by the city of Azusa where their lab is located.  It’s an environmental win win for the city and Skin MD Natural.

Think about this for a minute, your skin is alive and needs protection just like the rest of you. I am working on stocking Skin MD in our Environmental Booty Shop, but until then, our friends at Skin MD Natural have generously offered our community a special discount. Use code EHWB at checkout and you will  save 20% on one of my favorite green finds.

  1. This covers all the bases = saves you money, helps the environment, helps your health, makes you feel better, it's so easy to do and it costs less than $50.00; Save money and the Earth and be clean at the same time! Add Bathroom Bidet Sprayers to all your bathrooms. I think Dr. Oz on Oprah said it best: "if you had pee or poop on your hand, you wouldn't wipe it off with paper, would you? You'd wash it off” Available at www.bathroomsprayers.com with these you won't even need toilet paper any more, just a towel to dry off! Don’t worry, you can still leave some out for guests and can even make it the soft stuff without feeling guilty. It's cheap and can be installed without a plumber; and runs off the same water line to your toilet. You'll probably pay for it in a few months of toilet paper savings. As for water use a drought is always a concern and must be dealt with prudently but remember the water use of industrial users far exceeds the water use of household users and in the case of toilet paper manufacture it is huge. The pollution and significant power use from that manufacturing process also contributes to global warming so switching to a hand bidet sprayer and lowering your toilet paper use is very green in multiple ways.

  2. I must say, David, that I was a bit miffed when I thought you had left a comment that has nothing to do with green...but after reading your entire comment, you have me thinking.
