two leaves and a bud is the Best Organic Herbal Tea I Have Ever Tried! Review

I cannot say enough about how delicious and beneficial two leaves and a bud organic herbal teas are so I'll let a picture tell the story...

One of my favorite caffeine free options from two laves and a bud - Pomi-Berry
Top note: Slightly tangy
Middle Note: Smooth and rich
Finish: Sweet berry
It is really kind of hard for me to describe the way two leaves and a bud organic herbal teas taste.  I can tell you that right now I am drinking Better Morning Blend and it is a refreshing citrus lift to my morning. With a slight hint of lemon and a lingering peppermint taste, with absolutely no caffeine, it is a perfect "perk" me up.  Although it is naturally sweet, I add a little stevia for extra sweetness (my kids tell me I need it...lol) and let it steep a bit longer than regular teas.  Totally delicious and out of the ordinary.  Two leaves and a bud is so not your normal tea.  Does this look normal?
Organic Better Belly Blend
Caffeine: NONE
Top note: Tangy
Middle Note: Complex and layered
Finish: Tanic yet mellow
Many of two leaves and a bud teas are not only delicious and fresh with many tasty layers, they are also therapeutic.  If you or your little one has a tendency to get an upset tummy, you must have Organic Better Belly Blend on hand!  Don't reach for a medication with artificial colors, reach for this amazing tea. The smell alone is calming and drinking it is a breezy delight for little ones and bigger ones alike.

So let's talk organic versus conventional tea for a minute.  Have you ever really thought about how tea is made and what goes into conventional tea?  Well, these are some of the artificial chemicals used to make conventional tea:
  • HCH - Hexachlorocyclohexane
  • DDT - Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethe
  • Permethrin
  • Fenvalerate
  • Carfentrazone - ethyl
  • Spinosad
By law, products certified as organic may not have any artificial chemicals. When you drink tea, you are drinking a leaf infused in water. You can have a clean leaf (or two and a bud) or one that may have any or all of these chemicals on it.   At Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Company, all they do is think about tea leaves.  They do the footwork for us and actually go to the organic tea gardens! Visit the rolling hills of Darjeeling, the tropical climate of Assam, and other gardens around the world and you just might find Two Leaves and a Bud's  founder, Richard, tasting tea, interacting with farmers and experiencing whole leaf organic tea in its purest, native form.  Richard feels it's Two Leaves and Bud's mission to bring the experience of the organic gardens back to their customers.

It's not easy to find really good, truly organic tea. The average tea plant takes seven to ten years to mature, and organic certification requires three years of organic growing methods. Because of this, many organic tea gardens just convert old tea bushes to organic tea production as opposed to planting fresh, new tea bushes grown organically, and waiting seven years for them to mature.  That process makes it incredibly difficult to find good organic tea. The region of Assam, India, has hundreds of gardens, with only around five growing organic tea - and not all of it is good organic tea.

In their efforts to provide great organic tea, two leaves and a bud works tirelessly. We actively seek out the gardens committed to growing new organic tea bushes. It's not easy, but their goal is to provide organic tea that tastes like nothing you've ever had before. The result of their efforts are rich, complex black teas like Assam or Earl Grey that are certified organic with a taste you totally won't believe.

Founded in 2005, Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Company began with a journey. Founder Richard Rosenfeld traveled the world on business, where meetings are synonymous with amazingly flavorful cups of tea. After returning to the states, Richard looked everywhere for a good cuppa' tea...but had a hard time finding one.

Richard traveled to gardens in China, Sri Lanka and Japan to establish relationships with tea growers in order to bring premium, whole-leaf, organic tea from the best harvests to tea drinkers around the world.  Two Laves and a Bud was one of the pioneers of the pyramid shaped tea sachet that allows tea drinkers to experience whole leaf tea in the comfort of their own home. The sachet gives the whole tea leaves the ability to expand, yielding a rich, flavorful cuppa' that can't be paralleled.

Now I am totally a teaholic but being a busy mommy, I rarely will take the time to brew my loose tea.  Two leaves and a bud has made drinking whole leaf tea easy and accessible with their environmentally friendly pyramid shaped tea sachets. I am so in love with the corn based nylon tea sachets because they are not made with petroleum based nylon.  How green is that?   The shape and size of the sachets allow the full leaves to infuse completely in the cup.  Now I have loose tea in the convenience of a sachet...love it!
