Advocates Push For Testing Crops For Blue-Green Algae Contamination



The issue of what to do about toxic algae blooms is before the state (of Oregon)environmental regulators.
Thursday the Oregon Environmental Quality Commission heard about some crops that may have been contaminated with toxic algae from Wapato Lake in the Willamette Valley. Becca Bartleson was there and has this report.

Click on the title above for the entire article...Here in florida I have had a few vacations ruined by an algae bloom called Red Tide in the ocean. The red Tide is a different species of algae. I have learned to check and see if there is an active bloom about a week before I go on vacation to be sure that I will not have burining eyes, itching throat and a purely miserable time. These things are horrible if you have allergies!!
