Update on Perchlorate - We Did It!

Wow. We really did it.
EWG brought attention to an important but under-publicized CDC study about perchlorate in infant formula. We were pleased to see how many reputable and far-reaching media outlets reported the study's results after we sounded the alarm.

You were terrific!

We were equally thrilled that our terrific fans - that's you! - sent EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson 14,500 emails asking for safe perchlorate levels in our drinking water. With that many citizen messages and such extensive media attention, we look forward to the EPA taking action in the near future.

We really appreciate the time you took to speak up on this important issue.

The power of the media - on and offline - to call attention to an issue and spur change is essential, so we were very pleased to see these publications respond so well to our analysis. Here is a sampling:
• Huffington Post
• Mother Jones
• The New York Times
• Pro Publica
• The Washington Post
• Web MD

Our voices are more powerful if raised in unison.
Thank you for working with us to protect infant health and promote safe drinking water - we make a good team.

Sincerely,
Lisa Frack
