You know how much I love Twitter (@EnviroBooty) and I found a great new follow in @KeepVABeautiful. They recently shared a super easy tip on how to be green that they found on the Earth 911 website. In one of the shortest TEDx talks I have ever seen, Joe Smith who is a former attorney in Oregon, gives a super easy tip on how to be green by using just one paper towel.
Don't worry, this is not reminiscent of Sheryl Crow and her one sheet green tip, this is actually doable and kinda fun.
You see in the United States, we use 13 billion pounds of paper towels each year. Kinds makes you crazy if you think about all of that paper going into the earth in landfills doesn't it?
Well the kicker is that if each of us used just one less paper towel each day, we could keep 571,230,000 pounds of paper towels out of landfills each year. The problem is, we are all so conditioned to just grab and go, that we need a little something to help us retrain our brains to go green and use just one paper towel instead of being wasteful.
Take a look at Mr. Smith's video below and I promise you will never look at paper towels the same ever again and you will be doing one more thing to be green!
