Even if you aren't a foodie, this yummy to eat and easy to make green living treat will make you the star of this year's 4th of July celebration!

I ran across this yummy and easy Fourth of July treat in a Prevention magazine article on the importance of GMO labeling by super greenie and super mom, Robyn O'Brien.  I think the flag kabob is the perfect dish for non foodies like myself to easily put together to impress the kids, friends and guests at this year's 4th of July celebration or bar-b-q.  For an extra cool treat, freeze them!

It is so easy I don't think you need me to explain it right?  I will say that the skewers are the ones you use to make kabobs and you can totally reuse them to be green or use 12" Stainless Steel Oval Skewers .

As a reminder, domestic blueberries and strawberries are on the Environmental Working Group's (EWG) Dirty Dozen list as one of the most exposed produce items in terms of pesticides.  Pesticides have been linked to cancer, hormone disruption and birth defects so steer clear of those conventionally grown produce items, make it easy and just buy organic.

Enjoy this yummy, easy and impressive go green treat for your Fourth of July celebration and stop by tomorrow for a really sweet take on freedom and the 4th!!

P.S.-Thank you to Sara Speer Selber for the heads up on the Robyn O'Brien article.

P.P.S.- People always ask me where I get my food and personal care products and I love to tell them about The Green PolkaDot Box! Backed by the Organic Consumer's Association and EnvironmentalBooty.com, you can easily buy NonGMO organic groceries, including Harvest Fresh Organic produce, at wholesale pricing online.  It's like a Sam's club but focused on products for green, healthy living! You can even shop by dietary restrictions like gluten free, vegan or diabetic and it all comes right to your front door.
