I have been going crazy for the last few years in my house and home office trying to easily manage my recycling.  Trying to keep my recycling separate from my trash, is obviously not rocket science so one would have thought that I would have found a solution years ago.  But devising an easy system for managing recycling at home and in my home office, was just one of those things that I kept pushing to the back of my mind.  Can you relate?

I even tried using boxes for recycling containers, but I could never find just the right sizes and they always looked trashy...no pun intended.

What I finally resorted to was just tossing my recycling on the floor in my home office and then at the end of each day, tossing it in the recycling bin in the garage.   It was obviously messy and drove me crazy.  Dealing with recycling for the rest of the house was even worse.  It seemed that I always ended up digging through everyone's trash cans to pull out paper, and other items to be recycled, that had inadvertently been tossed in the trash bins.  Not fun and not very effective.

I Finally Have the Easy and Cheap Answer for Dealing with Recycling in My Home Office and at Home...it Was Under My Nose at Lowe's®

Finally my hassle and mess with recycling at home and in my office all changed last week when my daughter, Reece, called me from Lowe's Home Improvement store.  She knew what a headache dealing with our recycling was and she noticed that they had the pretty blue recycling bins for just $5 a piece and called to tell me.  I asked her to pick up 4 bins and I was seriously so excited.

It doesn't take much to get me excited.

This Is so Easy and Cheap, Anyone Can Do it Right?

Now I have an easy answer to my home office recycling quandary for just $5.  And I have placed the 3 additional recycling bins strategically around the house so my 3 daughters can easily manage their recycling, as well, in the rest of the house. And guess what?  They are actually using them.

I think this is so easy and cheap, anyone can do it right? 

I think an interior designer would be horrified by the addition of the bright blue containers in my office/bedroom, kitchen, hallway and playroom.  I don't really care.  To me they are a beautiful blue solution to one of the myriad of problems we encounter each day in our crazy,  green living family and home.
