Why Ignoring Your Digital Presence Is a Recipe for Disaster

How Deep Is YOUR Life Entrenched in Digital?

I need to get something to eat. I am starving. I want some healthy food but want to try a new place near me.

I pick up my phone and do a search for "healthy food near me". I sift through the restaurants that are served to me via search and check out the reviews for the ones that pique my interest.

Once I check out the reviews, I head to my chosen restaurant's website to check out the brand and make sure it's a good fit for me.

I see that they have a helpful FAQ page and find my answer to the question as to whether this is a good place to bring my American Eskimo.

I grab the leash and my dog and we head out to a great lunch. Then, of course, I leave a review and tell all of my friends to go check out their Facebook page and give them a Like.

Sound familiar?

Don't Let Your Business Miss The Digital Boat

If you are anything like me and most consumers, you are immersed in digital in almost every corner of your life.

Although unplugging is necessary and important, digital media provides a gateway to our communities, friendships, and businesses that is not only helpful but imperative for your business to thrive.

There are over 70,000 Google searches each second. That’s almost 227 million an hour and about 5.4 billion Google searches per day.

If your business is not working an online digital marketing strategy, I can guarantee you are leaving money on the online table.

If you are not interested in growing your business, and let's be honest, some folks are happy with the status quo, then ignoring your digital presence may work for you.

Ignore Your Digital Presence At Your Own Peril

Over the past 14 years, I have heard the same story over and over again. A prospect feels comfortable and they have plenty of business. They may even be generating leads via calls and form fills online.

They may even think that making the spend on digital marketing and advertising is unnecessary.

Then something happens. The calls stop coming in and the form submissions slow to almost nothing.

The bad news is that the majority of the time, the client really has no idea why they were getting the leads online in the first place let alone why they stopped.

Sadly, we have seen instances of: Google handing out manual penalties (which is almost always a very costly endeavor to deal with), websites that are not giving Google what they "want" and in some instances we have encountered CEOs' bad reputations online that needed to be fixed to fix the brand...another costly endeavor.

Don't ignore your digital presence.

It's just not worth it.

It's like being penny-wise and pound-foolish.
