Greenwashing...Marketing "Green"

I know there are some of you out there who may be starting to think that the term Green is a dirty word. Some have even started using the term Greenwashing to describe the push to reduce, reuse and recycle. Some see it as pure marketing. Well consider this the next time you feel used and abused by the green movement.

Americans threw away 22 billion plastic water bottles in one year. The amount of oil used to produce the plastic water bottles that are used in the United States is 1.5 million barrels.

To those of you who say, "Please, that is a drop in the bucket compared to the oil we use."

I say, "Who cares!"

We have to start somewhere to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and preserve our planet. Not to mention the BPA we put into our bodies and earth which could be lessened if we used stainless steel water bottles.

Green is not a dirty word to me. How about you?

For ways to get started or continue your journey to green, check out this video I found at the Army Wives Gone Green site.

  2. My friend is in to something called www.happytogogreen.com

Have you ever heard of that?

It's a multi level marketing thing, so I stay away from it, but they are doing this at the right time :-)

My friend tried to get me to sell monavie..........sorry nope. I'm not into those things.

  3. keith, I have not heard of happy to go green. I have heard of Green Irene.

I fell in love with Arbonne products feeling that they were safe for my family (another MLM) and still offer those products but WHOA! I am not an MLM person. I know it works for some so more power to them but not for me...love the products though but I have found some products at much better pricing.

    Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Arbonne products are not healthy at all! If you read the list of ingredients on their website you'll find many synthetic chemicals. Being kind to a friend who just drank the Arbonne kool-aid I said I would try the product and give my honest feedback. Immediately my face broke out and the moisterizer doesn't work. Normally I use totally clean facial cleanser so I'm not surprised my body had this reaction. Read "No More Dirty Looks" and you'll learn a lot and find great healthy alternatives to companies like Arbonne who are greenwashing to sell their crappy product.
