The Academy Awards 2013 Eco Red Carpet Wrap Up with Anne Hathaway, Helen Hunt and Naomie Harris

Eco-Oscars Shine Again This Year at The 84th Academy Awards

As usual the Oscars were the perfect place for eco fashion to shine and the 84th Academy Awards did not disappoint. Check out the eco style below that was on display this year from sexy, silver, strappy shoes to cruelty-free mineral-dyed silk.

A pale fairy or a hot little eco chick?
Those Vegan Feet were Made for Fairies?

Those feet were made for walking the red carpet in custom, vegan Giuseppe Zanotti heels as Anne Hathaway accepted her very first Oscar in a pale pink Prada dress.  My mom thought she looked pale and lifeless, but I thought she looked like a beautiful fairy with clipped wings.  What do you think?

Sexy Green Cougar

Thanks to H&M's recently launched eco-friendly initiative with the environmental group Global Green, Helen Hunt's dress was as green as it was blue.  Don't look for this little ditty off the rack though as Helen's H&M creation was a custom design just for her.  God she is gorgeous right? She gives us older babes a good name.  Looks like she has had work done though yes?  Hell, if that is what good "work" looks like, bring it. Oh and those jewels she was sporting weren't costume. They were worth seven hundred grand.  Nice ice baby.

And The Winner IMO Is...

Naomie Harris also wore a gorgeous eco yellow gown which took 120 hours to make and was designed by Michael Badger.  The dress, my personal favorite of the evening, was created from an organic GOTS certified organic silk Crepe De Chine fabric and was dyed using seeds from chamomile and goldenrod.  The dress also had some  unique and beautiful vintage and recycled elements which included candy wrappers.

P.S.- People always ask me where I get my organic food and personal care products and I love to tell them about The Green PolkaDot Box! Backed by the Organic Consumer's Association and EnvironmentalBooty.com, you can easily buy NonGMO organic groceries, including Harvest Fresh Organic produce, at wholesale pricing online.  It's like a Sam's club but focused on products for green, healthy living! You can even shop by dietary restrictions like gluten free, vegan or diabetic and it all comes right to your front door. Enjoy!
