Looking for a Way to Help Your Kids Go Green? The Little Earth Charter is Helping Teachers, Parents and Kids Change the World

I have three daughters 4, 9 and 12.  I must say that they have picked up on living a green lifestyle and looking out for our environmental health from me.  Still, I am always on the lookout for resources I can use to help them continue their walk on the path to green.  I love green sites for kids and I have just found the best site, in my humble opinion,  full of games, songs and stories that captivates my four year old and keep my nine year old intrigued for longer than an episode of Hannah Montana!

The Little Earth Charter was created by Canadians JC Little and one of our Environmental Booty Members, Rosie Emery, to help teachers integrate universal and environmental values into their classrooms. It includes an animated video series and an activity guide for teachers and parents.   This Eco-site for little ones is adorable,  important and intriguing to kids.

The purpose of The Little Earth Charter is  to help teachers convey the message of becoming responsible earth stewards for a sustainable future.  The program is geared toward growing, green 4-8 year olds and is being integrated into classrooms in Canada, the US, Portugal, Russia, Belgium, Australia, Japan and beyond.  The Little Earth Charter website is packed with free colorful animation, amazing music by Rosie Emery and associated green teaching materials.

I am certainly not a teacher; teachers are truly chosen and blessed with abilities I do not posses.  Still,  I am certainly a mom who is scoring some "cool mom" points with my children as they are having fun on their level going green and learning about environmental health.  When we finish playing on the site, my four year old always says, "Can't we go back?"

Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Teachers and administrators, you need to check out The Little Earth Charter.  I promise you, it can change a child's way of thinking...which can change our entire world.

  3. Lately, the health impacts of climate change have become a most important focus as well. So the more I considered all of the variety of facets of a potential career in EH, the more it seemed to fit my needs. It stands at a strategic intersection of medicine, public health and the environmental sciences. It would provide me with the skills, knowledge and credentials to join the fight against climate change by helping to demonstrate its potentially devastating effects for humanity.

    Best Regards,

  4. Packaging Supples, I wish there was an easy way to figure out Climate Change for sure. I hope that this program, The Little Earth Charter, will help to bring us our future scientists to figure it all out!
